Cancer recovery is more than just physical healing – it’s a whole-person journey. Many clients continue to experience fatigue, pain, inflammation and immune system changes long after treatment ends. That’s why Cancer Rehabilitation & Lymphatic Solutions is proud to offer a new service designed to complement our existing care: full-body red light therapy, delivered using the world-class Prism Light Pod.
This non-invasive therapy supports the body’s natural repair processes and integrates seamlessly with our established rehabilitation services, offering another layer of support for clients managing the after-effects of cancer treatment.
What is Full-Body Red Light Therapy?
Full-body red light therapy, also known as Photobiomodulation (PBM), is a well-researched therapy that uses specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to stimulate the mitochondria in your cells. This process increases ATP (energy) production, reduces inflammation, improves circulation and enhances tissue repair – all without producing heat, damaging tissue, or causing discomfort.
Delivered via the Prism Light Pod, this therapy treats the entire body in just 15 minutes. You lie down comfortably, keeping your underwear on, and let the light do its work. There’s no pain, no heat, and no downtime.
How Red-Light Therapy Supports Cancer Rehab
We’ve long supported people recovering from cancer treatments with services like MLS laser, manual lymphatic drainage, SOZO bioimpedance testing and compression therapy. Now, we can offer a powerful, whole-body complement to these treatments, throughout your recovery process.
Full-body red light therapy has been shown to assist with:
• Chronic fatigue and post-treatment energy loss
• Joint and muscle pain
• Cognitive symptoms like ‘chemo brain’
• Skin irritation
• Lymphatic congestion and mild swelling
• Poor sleep and general recovery
“We know that recovery after cancer isn’t always straightforward. Even months or years after treatment, people can still be living with pain, fatigue, or swelling that impacts their quality of life. Full-body red light therapy with the Prism Light Pod gives us another safe, evidence-informed tool to support clients through that process – gently, holistically, and in a way that honours the complexity of what their bodies have been through.”
– Kate Perkins, Cancer Rehabilitation and Lymphoedema Specialist Occupational Therapist
By improving mitochondrial function and circulation, full-body red light therapy supports healing across multiple systems – making it ideal for the complex and often long-lasting effects of cancer treatment.
Leaders in Photobiomodulation Therapy on the Central Coast
Red light therapy is not new to our clinic. In fact, Kate Perkins is widely recognised as a leader in this field, having co-founded Oncolaser™ – a comprehensive treatment program using targeted MLS laser therapy for minimise and treat the side effects cancer-related treatment: including pain and lymphoedema.
While MLS laser therapy is highly effective for localised treatment, the Prism Light Pod allows us to deliver red light therapy across the whole body – supporting systemic recovery. Together, they reflect our commitment to using evidence-based technology to help clients heal, feel better, and regain their quality of life.
What to Expect in the Prism Light Pod
Each session lasts 15 minutes and is completely contact-free. The Prism Light Pod is TGA-acknowledged, backed by thousands of peer-reviewed studies, and considered safe for use after cancer treatment. We always assess individual health history and current circumstances before beginning any therapy. An initial consultation is essential to determine the most appropriate individual treatment.
Most people find the experience calming and restorative – and many report feeling more energised and clear-headed after just one session.
Feel Better, Faster
Cancer changes the body, but recovery is possible. Our full-body red light therapy service is designed to support that process with science, care and compassion.
