Cancer Rehabilitation

Cancer rehabilitation helps people recover physically and emotionally before, during and after cancer treatment.

CRLS supports rehabilitation for breast cancer, head and neck cancer, gynaecological cancers, melanoma, or any other cancer related treatment that involves lymph node removal, radiation treatment and / or chemotherapy. CRLS also supports orthopaedic surgery and post-treatment recovery.

Head and neck cancer rehabilitation helps manage swelling, fibrosis, mobility issues, pain and significant treatment side effects.

Lymphoedema Treatment & Management

Lymphoedema is a chronic condition that causes swelling due to a build-up of lymphatic fluid in the body’s tissues. It commonly develops after cancer treatment, surgery, radiation therapy, trauma or lymph node removal, but it can also occur due to genetic or vascular conditions.

While lymphoedema is chronic, symptoms can often be effectively managed with specialised treatment.

Early intervention may help reduce swelling, fibrosis and long-term complications.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a gentle massage technique designed to stimulate lymphatic flow and reduce swelling.

SOZO is advanced bioimpedance spectroscopy (BIS) technology used to detect lymphoedema at an early stage before visible swelling appears.

Lipoedema

Lipoedema is a genetic condition that is identified as a connective tissue disorder, with the development of excessive fibrotic fatty tissue deposits mainly around the knees, hips, stomach and arms.

Symptoms include painful fat tissue, swelling, bruising, heaviness and reduced mobility.

While there is no cure for lipoedema, treatment can help reduce symptoms, swelling and discomfort.

Lipoedema is a fat disorder, while lymphoedema involves swelling caused by impaired lymphatic drainage.

MLS Laser Therapy & OncoLaser

OncoLaser is an advanced laser therapy approach used to support cancer rehabilitation and recovery.

Laser therapy may help with lymphoedema, lipoedema, fibrosis, chronic pain, inflammation, swelling and post-surgical recovery.

MLS Laser Therapy is non-invasive. Whether it is suitable depends on the person’s condition, medical history and treatment plan. A CRLS clinician will assess suitability and explain the expected benefits and any relevant risks before treatment.

Many people report little or no discomfort during MLS Laser Therapy. Individual experiences vary, and patients should tell their clinician if they experience any discomfort during treatment.

The number of sessions depends on the condition being treated and the individual recovery goals.
