Celebrating nine years of clinical leadership, innovation and compassionate care on the Central Coast.
“The most meaningful measure of success isn’t how long you’ve been caring for patients—it’s how you continue to improve the care they receive.”
A vision that changed the local rehabilitation landscape
Nine years ago, Cancer Rehabilitation & Lymphatic Solutions (CRLS) was established with a clear purpose: to provide people affected by cancer with access to specialised rehabilitation that simply wasn’t widely available on the Central Coast.
At a time when cancer rehabilitation was still emerging as a recognised discipline, founder Kate Perkins saw an opportunity to bridge the gap between cancer treatment and recovery. Her vision was to create a dedicated service where people could receive evidence-based rehabilitation tailored to the physical and functional challenges that often accompany cancer, surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
Today, that vision has evolved into one of the Central Coast’s most established dedicated cancer rehabilitation services, trusted by patients and healthcare professionals alike.
Leadership built on expertise
Kate Perkins has built her reputation through years of clinical practice, continual learning and a commitment to improving outcomes for people living with and beyond cancer.
An Occupational Therapist with extensive expertise in cancer rehabilitation and lymphoedema management, Kate is recognised nationally and internationally as an educator, presenter and innovator. She regularly shares her knowledge with healthcare professionals through conferences, workshops and education programs, helping translate emerging research into practical clinical care.
Her leadership extends beyond the clinic. Kate has developed the OncoLaser™ treatment model with the use of MLS Laser in minimizing the side effects of cancer treatment, championed the use of SOZO® bioimpedance spectroscopy for earlier lymphoedema detection and founded initiatives including the Bounce Back From Breast Cancer program and Coastal Rehab Hub. Each reflects the same philosophy: improve access to specialised, evidence-based rehabilitation that genuinely changes lives.
Innovation with purpose
Technology has always been viewed at CRLS as a way to enhance patient care, not replace clinical expertise. The clinic continues to invest in evidence-based innovations including SOZO® bioimpedance spectroscopy, MLS Laser Therapy (Photobiomodulation Therapy) and the OncoLaser™ protocol.
These technologies are integrated with comprehensive assessment, hands-on therapy, education and personalised rehabilitation programs to support earlier intervention, improved function and better quality of life.
Trusted by the healthcare community
CRLS has developed enduring relationships with surgeons, oncologists, radiation oncologists, breast physicians, breast care nurses, GPs and allied health professionals across the Central Coast.
Referrers value the clinic’s collaborative approach, responsive communication and commitment to coordinated multidisciplinary care. Every patient is supported by a team that understands the importance of working together to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Looking beyond nine years
While nine years is an important milestone, the focus at CRLS remains firmly on the future.
Cancer rehabilitation continues to evolve rapidly, and under Kate Perkins’ leadership the clinic remains committed to education, research, innovation and collaboration. The goal is simple: ensure people on the Central Coast continue to have access to specialised rehabilitation that helps them recover with confidence, dignity and hope.
For patients, families and healthcare professionals, CRLS represents more than a rehabilitation clinic. It is a centre of expertise dedicated to advancing cancer rehabilitation while delivering compassionate, evidence-based care every day.
