RECOVER FASTER, STRONGER, AND FULL OF ENERGY

CRLS Supports Soup for the Soul™ This Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Month

This July, Cancer Rehabilitation & Lymphatic Solutions (CRLS) is proud to support Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Month through Soup for the Soul™, Head and Neck Cancer Australia’s signature community fundraising event.

Led locally by Kate Perkins, CRLS is joining the national effort to raise awareness, support people affected by head and neck cancer, and help fund vital education, advocacy and support services.

WHY HEAD AND NECK CANCER AWARENESS MATTERS

Head and neck cancer refers to a group of cancers that can affect areas such as the mouth, throat, voice box, tonsils, tongue, salivary glands, nose and sinuses.

For many people, the impacts of head and neck cancer treatment can be significant and long-lasting. Depending on the type of cancer and treatment received, individuals may experience changes to swallowing, speech, breathing, lymphatic function, fatigue, pain, scarring, shoulder mobility, and overall quality of life.

For patients and families, recovery is often not just physical. It can also be emotional, social and deeply personal.

That is why awareness, connection and access to support are so important.

BRINGING PEOPLE TOGETHER THROUGH SOUP FOR THE SOUL™

Soup for the Soul™ is a warm and meaningful way for communities to come together during July. The campaign encourages people to share a bowl of soup with family, friends, colleagues or community groups while raising funds to support Head and Neck Cancer Australia’s work.

A warm bowl of soup may seem simple, but for many people recovering from head and neck cancer treatment, eating and swallowing can be one of the most challenging parts of daily life.

CRLS AND KATE PERKINS: SUPPORTING RECOVERY BEYOND TREATMENT

At CRLS, supporting people through cancer rehabilitation and lymphatic recovery is at the heart of what we do.

Kate Perkins and the CRLS team understand that recovery from head and neck cancer can involve many layers, including physical rehabilitation, lymphoedema management, scar and tissue care, fatigue support, education and confidence-building.

Through her work in cancer rehabilitation and specialist lymphatic care, Kate and her team is passionate about helping people feel supported, informed and less alone during recovery.

TOGETHER, WE CAN MAKE A MEANINGFUL DIFFERENCE

Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Month is a reminder that awareness matters. It helps people recognise symptoms earlier, understand the impacts of treatment, and connect with support when they need it most.

By supporting Soup for the Soul™, we can help bring warmth, connection and hope to people affected by head and neck cancer.

From all of us at CRLS, thank you for supporting Kate, Head and Neck Cancer Australia, and this important cause.
